[Eiscat-user] Seeking Staff Scientist to EISCAT

Dear all We are hiring a Staff Scientist to join the staff at the EISCAT Headquarters in Kiruna, Sweden. The position is with the scientific team that interacts with the users regarding planning, operation of campaigns, and data interpretation. The EISCAT scientists also monitor the overall operations and validate the resulting data-products. For this position, the candidate will also take an important role in the recently started European Union Framework H2020-funded project PITHIA-NRF. This project relates to integrating and opening access to research infrastructures of European interest. Tasks relate to outreach and supporting users coming to the facilities to perform campaigns within the Transnational Access (TNA) part of the project. The work includes both travel between the EISCAT sites and international travel to interact with EISCAT’s user community. The Staff Scientist will also have the opportunity to perform some personal research. Applicants should have completed a relevant recent Ph.D. in Geospace or atmospheric science. They must also have some experience in advanced scientific computing, and knowledge of radar technology and analysis is an advantage.
