Dear All
I'm pleased to announce a new webinar about Green Computing. "Going Green"
is a rising trend establishing itself as the preferred way of doing things while saving
the environment. Green Computing is the environmentally responsible and eco-friendly use
of computers and their resources. In EGI-ACE, there is a Task Force established to
coordinate the Green Computing activities of EGI Federation. This is the very first
webinar to introduce the group work and how EGI tackle the issues. Register Now to reserve
your place, and you won’t miss the opportunity to talk directly to the team!
Title: How Green Is My Infrastructure? --Green Computing - What We Have Done So You Can Do
It Too
Date and Time: Wednesday, 30th March 2022 |15:00-16:30 CEST
(Note: the time is slightly different starting from 15:00)

Description
One of the core reasons for having a green task force in this project is to identify and
share good practice as regards green computing. With this in mind, we have planned a
number of dissemination activities starting with this webinar. This first webinar will
allow members of the task force to share their experiences with the wider community.
It will take the form of a series of "Lightning" style talks/provocations where
targeted individuals who participated in the Green computing survey will share what they
have done (and in some cases what that plan to do) when “Greenifying” their infrastructure
and data centres (highlighting key problems and solutions along the way). These
provocations will be followed by a question and answer session. It's a quick win for
both the task force and the community.
Speakers: Members of the EGI-ACE Green Computing Task Force
-- Catalin Condurache (EGI Foundation)
-- Shaun de Witt (UKAEA)
-- Carlos Fernandez (CESGA)
