After evaluating options for VHF and UHF power amplifiers for the transmitting chains of our ground station I have reached a preliminary conclusion on what to procure.

For a total cost of 966,20 euro.

Here are some key features of both amplifiers:

• 60W output power
• 34 dB small signal gain UHF, 36 dB VHF
  
• 12V enable pin for on/off control
  
• Integrated harmonic filtering
  
• SMA input, N-type output

Using these we should get a link margin of ~19 dB for APTAS which in turn should give us less than 10^-10 bit errors per second on telecommands.
